Duties: CESA 6 is seeking to employ a full-time itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide itinerant D/HH services to students with hearing impairments in the northern school districts of the CESA 6 region. The responsibilities of this itinerant position include development and implementation of Individual Education Programs, direct instruction to students, consultation to school personnel and parents, and conducting student evaluations. This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a team of other energetic D/HH Teachers, Educational Interpreters and Educational Audiologists. Other essential skills include effectively communicating with children of all ages as well as with adults, ability to maintain records, ability to manage time and schedule accurately, and ability to maintain student confidentiality. This position provides the opportunity for collaboration with a team of other energetic D/HH Teachers, working in schools for support and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications: Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification in Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Code 805, or eligibility to obtain this license, is required. This position is itinerant, so the individual hired must have their own transportation, a valid driver's license and be able to drive between school districts. Strong communication skills are necessary, as well as knowledge of core curriculum, modifications and adaptions for hearing loss, auditory skill development and transition planning.
