Nature Director/Counselor (Special Needs Program)

Duties: Responsible for planning, implementing and directing a nature program which can be adapted to meet the ages, interests and ability levels of the campers. Planned activities should help the campers and staff develop an appreciation, understanding and respect for the environment and the animals native to South Carolina. Live in a cabin group and assist counselors with the daily supervision and care of a group of children who have special health care needs.
Qualifications: Applicant must have prior knowledge, experience or training in teaching environmental education. Applicant must have completed his/her junior year in college. The employee must be organized; able to plan and teach nature activities and motivate others. The employee must have the desire and ability to live, work and play in an outdoor setting with children who have special needs. The employee must have the physical ability and endurance to constant supervision of campers and assist with their personal care and medical needs.
