Oregon School for the Blind Classroom Teacher

Duties: Provide classroom management, program planning, evaluation and instruction of students in an intensive environment designed to help each student who is visually impaired reach his or her full potential. Instruction is provided in the classroom, dining room and in the community, and in group or one-on-one settings, depending on the skill level and need of each student.

Qualifications: Posess a Standard, Basic, or Transitional Oregon Teaching License/Certificate with at least one of the following endorsements: Vision Impaired (must be obtained within three years of hire), Handicapped Learner 2, Handicapped Learner 1, or Special Education. If you do not have a vision impaired endorsement at the time of hire, you must obtain one within three years of hire date.
