O&M Specialist
Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind

Duties: O&M Specialist will provide services to enable residential students aged 5-21 to travel safely and efficiently in their home, school and community; conduct evaluation(s) of students; work with families and school personnel to support students’ implementation and learning of O&M skills; participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and other school related meetings as requested; collaborate with school personnel in each school district/region and provide information and consultation to school and families to maintain service and referrals; provide consultation to staff and/or families to assist in determining appropriateness of referrals for O&M; maintain accurate information on student service and service reports in a timely manner. Complete other projects and duties as assigned. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications: COMS Certified; Proficiency in Braille Code and Technology; Bachelor’s degree acceptable – Master’s degree preferred.
