Duties: Provide instruction in Enlgish to junior high/high school age visually impaired/mutiply impaired students in partnership with a VI teacher to provide instruction in the area of Language Arts to include use of innovative techniques, equipment, materials. Prepare lesson plans, student evaluations, reports, IEP goals/objectives, report cards. Participate in professional and school related activities to promote/enhance the educational program provided for WCBVI students.
Qualifications: Certification or eligible for certification in English (300) by the Dept. of Public Instruction is required. Certification in Reading (316) is desired, but not required. Knowledge of principles/best practices relating to teaching in the Language Arts areas. Ability to work with special education professionals. Knowledge of individualized teaching approaches used to maximize student potential.
