Duties: Eastern Michigan University invites applications and nominations for Head of the Department of Special Education. EMU is a comprehensive state institution of over 24,000 students, with a scenic campus located just east of Ann Arbor and within easy reach of metropolitan Detroit and several charming rural communities. The Department of Special Education enrolls over 2000 students in eight disability program areas leading to bachelors, masters, and specialist degrees. Reporting to the Dean of the College of Education, the Department Head holds a year-round appointment and provides leadership to 28 faculty and staff members. Qualifications: Qualifications: earned doctorate in special education or related field; teaching experience in higher education; minimum of three years experience in both administrative and in K-12 school settings, or clinical settings; academic experiences and accomplishments that qualify for an associate of full professorship in Special Education.
